Thanks mom for a clean house!

Well, I am still just hanging out!  I am starting to feel much better.  I now only have pain if I get up and move around for a little bit.   Even then, the pain is so much better than it was last week!  I guess those shots are working.  As for the shots, I am getting a little better.  I still think it is probably a good idea I choose teaching over a career in the medical field!
In other news, my mom came to visit.  In the weeks prior to the blood clot, our life was a little crazy and my house got a little messy!  I was very tired, so cleaning took a back seat.  Anyways, my sweet mother came on Sunday and did a deep cleaning for me.  My house looks awesome!   In addition to my clean house, my mother-in-law has been feeding us very well.  I have probably gained several pounds this week due to all yummy meals that we have been eating and all the sitting around I have been doing.  I am sure that the butterbean is very happy!  All that to say, if you have been wanting to visit now is the time.   Good food and a clean house...it doesnt get much better than that!
Since Ive been sitting around so much this week, my mom and I decided I should do something productive like learn to smock.   She brought me some starters and yesterday I began my first project.  I feel like I may finish it today.   I am not perfect yet, but I think I'm doing pretty good for teaching myself.  I'll have to post a picture when I finish.  We go back to the doctor on Friday, so I will post an update on how that goes.  Pray for good news.   I have major cabin fever, and I cant wait to get back to school.  I miss my kids!  Hopefully, next week I will get to return!

Home Sweet Home!

We are finally home!  After spending 4 days staring at the same walls, I have never been more excited to see my house.  It is nice to be able to sit on my own sofa and not have someone coming in every few hours to check my vitals!  I know I will sleep well tonight.  Clint and I are so thankful for all the great care that we got during our stay, but we sure hope that today was the last time we will see our new friends until Oct.!   Also, we are so grateful for all our sweet friends that came to visit and all the pretty flowers and fun surprises!  We appreciated it so much.
It looks like the plan now is to rest, rest, rest.  We will head back to the doctor next Thurs. for a check-up.  Hopefully, on Thursday I will be released to return to school.  Please pray that my leg will continue to feel better as we go through the week.  I miss my kids and might drive myself crazy if I have to stay in the house for too long!

Oh baby, baby

You read it right...Clint and I are going to be parents.  We are super excited about our new little butterbean into the world in Oct!  We decided that the blog would be a great way to keep our family and friends informed and updated on all our baby news.  The first post on this blog is a video we sent my parents to tell them about our surprise.  The Butterbean (what we currently call the baby) has already proved to be a little person who likes adventure.  We actually got to see the baby and hear a heartbeat for the first time at 7wks after the Butterbean led us into a little scare.   Fortunately, it turned out to be no concern at all, but we were excited to get a sneak peak at the baby!  We got to see the baby again at 9wks.  This visit to the doctor was particularly exciting because our baby was moving.  It was so neat to see those cute little arms and legs moving.  Well, the newest adventure of the Butterbean began last week.  Clint and I took a trip last week to Las Vegas to see some shows, eat good food, and see the city.  We had a wonderful time and saw some great shows!  After flying home on Wed., I began to have some pain in my left leg.  It felt like I had hurt the back of my knee.   As the week went on, I started to feel like maybe I actually had muscle injury.   I treated my injury with ice, rest, and elevation for a few days, but it just did not seem to get better.  Finally, on Saturday morning, my sweet husband convinced me that I needed to go to the doctor.  We went to a doc in the box only to spend 2 hours and be sent to the ER.  Again, poor Clint had to convince his crazy wife that I did indeed need to go the ER.  Once at the ER, they did an ultrasound and confirmed that I did actually have a blood clot in the back of my knee.  Much to our surprise, this ailment requires quite the stay in the hospital followed by more time at home (5 days in the hospital and another week at home).   We are so lucky to have a wonderful doctor that also happened to be on call this weekend!    Dr. Lacey has been great informing us on what this actually means for both me and the baby.  The good news is that the baby is doing great and I am going to be fine.  The bad news is that I will have to take a shot 2x a day for the continuation of my pregnancy and even a little while after we have the baby.   Fortunately, the good news far outweighs the bad.  We are just excited that everyone is ok.   I am posting a few of the pictures we have of the Butterbean.  The first one were taken at 7wks and the second one at 9wks.  It is pretty cool to see how much the baby has grown!
