A Smile That Melts Our Hearts!

Dunkin has been smiling so much these days.  He must know that his momma has to go back to work on Monday and she needs lots of smiles!   He smiles when you enter the room, when he glances over at you, when he is playing, and of course when he is making a surprise!  Here are a few pictures of his sweet smile!  We hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is a tiring week!

1 Month

Wow, time has flown by!  Dunkin was 1 month old on Monday.  Our little man has blessed us more than we could have ever imagined.  When I look back on the past month, it is so neat to see how he has grown and developed over these past few weeks.  He now smiles and laughs at us. His favorite songs are Twinkle Twinkle and The Itzy Bitzy Spider.  He loves to play with anything that makes noise.  His very favorite thing to do is look at himself in the mirror.  He thinks that he looks really cute!  We agree! Also, Dunkin has found his voice.  It is so fun to hear him coo and talk.  He loves when you talk (coo) back to him.    I weighed him and myself together yesterday to get his weight.  He may be a few ounces smaller than what I got but at least we got something close!  Here are a few new pictures from this week.

Pumpkin Patch and Halloween

A few weeks ago, Dunkin made his first trip to the pumpkin patch.   I'm sure it is an outing that every 2 week old dreams of taking!   For us, it was our first outing as a family.   Clint's parents went with us and were kind enough to be our photographers!  We had a great time!  We plan to make this a family tradition with our little October baby.      The last couple of pictures are from Halloween.  We think we had the cutest little monkey ever!

How tall am I?

Sweet Baby Dunkin

We are home and doing great!   We got to come home Monday, and we have really enjoyed having our little family together at home.  I have so much to say about the past few days, but I think pictures are the best way to share all the joy we have been experiencing since Dunkin came into this world.  (We have only taken 848 pictures!)

We might have to wait another day...

Dunkin, much like his mother, has decided that he will live life on his own schedule!  Apparently, he didn't really agree with the plans we had for his arrival.  So, we have stopped the Potosin for tonight.  It is still possible that I may continue in labor on my own overnight tonight.  Since they have stopped my medicine, I have actually had an increase in the intensity of my contractions.  I have been having good contractions all day, but the intensity of the contractions have not be that bad.  So, I have not really progressed that quickly.  Dr. Lacy feels confident that tomorrow will be much better.  She thinks my cervix will be more prepared for the medicine in the morning.  I guess Dunkin just wanted to be born on the 8th instead of the 7th!  We will update everyone tomorrow.  Hopefully, we will have a picture.

We're at the hospital!!!

Well, the time has finally come!  We are at the hospital preparing for sweet Baby Dunkin to make his appearance!  We came in tonight to so that I could safely come off my blood thinner in preparation for the induction in the morning.  Unless we see a significant change throughout the night, we will be induced in the morning at 6 am.  Clint will keep everyone updated as the Butterbean enters the world!  Until then, enjoy a belly picture from last night and a picture of us leaving for the hospital this afternoon.

2 week countdown

The two week countdown is on!   If little Dunkin is not here yet, two weeks from today I will have worked my last day at school and we will be spending our last night at home by ourselves.   I am sure we will be anxiously awaiting his arrival!   We go to the doctor again tomorrow.  We went last Friday, and I was still 1cm and 70% effaced.  We will see what tomorrow holds for us.  I have to admit, these days each time we go to the doctor I get a little nervous we are going to have to stay.   The good news is that this time, Dunkin's sweet daddy had our car REALLY, REALLY cleaned, so he can at least come home in a very clean car!   Today, I had to go get some blood work done.  Last week, I switched from Lovenox to Heprin in preparation for Dunkin's arrival.   When we did some blood work last week the medicine was working too well and my blood was too thin.  We reduced the amount of medicine that I am taking, so hopefully when we go to the doctor tomorrow my blood results will be better!   In other news, I was told 4 times today that I looked like I was about to pop.  So, I thought I would share my "about to pop" belly with everyone!   We will update everyone tomorrow on the doctor's appointment.  Hopefully, it will be rather uneventful.  I have a baby shower on Sunday and my mom is in D.C. until Monday, so in the words of my mom we are hoping Dunkin will "stay tucked in a little longer"!
